How large can claims be?

Massive claims can be made on company public liability insurance but have you ever thought about how you are insured when playing sport and how much a stray shot or mistimed tackle could cost you?
In April of 1998 The Court Of Appeal decided that Golfers are liable for mis-hit shots that cause injury to other persons in and around the vicinity of the course even if the golfer yell’s ‘FORE’.
To date the highest ever pay out on a golfing accident was settled in 2001 when a policy holder miss hit a tee shot and hit a fellow golfer which caused a serious head injury resulting in legal costs of £87,000.
As golf as a sport increases in popularity in the UK and courses become busier and busier the probability of injuring a fellow golfer is greater and greater each time you play.
